CF News

Dear Chef Members and Colleagues,

It is with deep sadness that I share with you today that we have now decided officially to postpone the CF National Conference in 2020 altogether and will focus our efforts on a fresh start for 2021. We will return in 2021 to the beautiful city of Saskatoon, SK and are working with the Delta Downtown Saskatoon to secure new dates (ideally the same pattern as we were planning for 2020). These will be announced in the coming weeks. For those of you who have already registered and paid for the 2020 Conference, please contact Lisa Evangelos at to arrange a refund.

The extreme challenges that operators across our country are facing because of the closure of in-restaurant dining cannot be minimized. Restaurants of all sizes are facing a real financial crisis. While many of us are trying to keep staff on for drive thru, curbside pick up and delivery, many others have closed up temporarily. Although we are confident that we will begin to reopen when the worst of the COVID-19 virus curve has passed, we know that restarting will pose it's own financial and emotional challenges.

We have a lot of work in front of us to keep our businesses and our staff teams healthy and strong. As much as we would like to see all of you, we know that we need to conserve our energy, our finances and our efforts on rebuilding the moment we are able. In the spirit of supporting you all through that, we hope you understand this difficult decision.

I send everyone my ongoing support and hope that you are staying well. Please fee free to reach out to me personally at anytime,

Yours sincerely,

Chef Donald Gyurkovits
